Heya!
What a month i've had. I've not been online because Vinnie was attacked and seriously hurt. He went out on a Sunday to a pub with some mates because Bristol Rovers were playing. It's a family pub, which means children can go in too. One of Vinnies mates took his 7 year old son there to watch the game. Rovers didn't play too well (they lost 4 - 0 i think), when the 4th goal was scored this bloke in the pub picked up his pint glass and through it at the tv! Vinnie's mates son was petrified, so, Vinnie told the bloke to calm down because there were kids in there and the bloke just picked up another pint glass, smashed the top off and rammed it straight into Vinnie face.
The glass cut up the right side of Vinnie's face really bad. He had to have 28 stitches in total, 12 of those on the biggest cut across his nose. That isn't the worst part... the glass entered the soft area just under your eye, he had to have an emergency operation to save his eye and another one a week later to repair 2 small muscles the control the movement of the eye.
He was in hospital for 2 weeks and is home now =] he's lost around 20% of vision from the eye but that can be improved in a couple of months with another operation. He'll never see perfectly out of it again though ='[. His face is still a little swollen, but it's alot better to how it was a couple of weeks ago. The right side of his face is all cut up, bruised and patched up ='[
He's now got an infection in the eye, but the doctor said that that may happen. He also keeps getting headaches, if these don't stop soon then he'll have to go for a scan to see if there's any further damage
Now i'm just worried about what Vinnie's going to do when he's better. You see, where we live, people don't go to the police, they're seen as the enemy. Everyone sorts out their own problems, usually with violence. I don't want Vinnie to go beating this bloke up or whatever because then it'll be this never ending feud, and people will just keep getting hurt. Don't get me wrong i want the bastard that did it to Vinnie to pay for what he's done, but not that way. I want Vinnie or someone from that packed out pub to tell the police who it was so he can be arrested. He can be charged with GBH for fuck sake and put down for 5 years!
Nobody seems to be telling me anything more than i know about what happened. I'm just so scared that Vinnie's going get hurt again. The 2 weeks he was in hospital was like hell for me, i didn't sleep, hardly ate and was just crying all the time and i don't want to keep going through that when there's no need. I just feel like moving far away from this place with Vinnie and forgetting all about it, but I don't think Vinnie's gonna let it go
Anyway, i'm just thankful he's out of hospital and that he's not totally blind in his right eye. I know it could of been alot worse than what it is.
